Despair Veiled Poem

Sometimes I wish I was blind
When I see all that I see
The destruction, the despair
and the self-righetousness of those
who kill without pity

If only... If only...
I could lift the veil off their eyes
And the cage off their heart
And the blood from their minds

For God gave them sight to see
and a heart to Love
and a mind to reason

And He gave us too
The sight, the heart, the mind
To stand in solidarity, held by the bonds of humanity

But alas, a wise man said
"Only our Creator knew
We'd kill so many to save so few"
